For the most part, it is mostly purchased as a large rechargeable battery because it is mainly used in larger applications such as cars, boats, solar kits, and R.V.s.
Where is a 12 Volt Battery Used?
The larger 12v batteries usually power large items such as vehicles or boats. They are mostly used to start the engine because it has enough power, and then once the alternator takes over, the battery recharges. The smaller batteries are usually used to power small electronic items and are not rechargeable.
Outdoors-types would love manufacturers to come up with a smaller 12v battery that can be recharged because if a smaller one was invented, it would be great for any camping device For instance, fishers would be able to use it on their boats for their electronic fish finder. Many small fishing boats do not have an electrical system so avid fishers have to lug a large 12 volt battery on their boat to power their fish finder. Many fishers would be extremely happy if there was a smaller version of the rechargeable 12 volt battery.
How can a 12 Volt battery Save me Money?
By purchasing a rechargeable battery, it can save you money because you will be able to power whatever it is you need to power often without having to purchase more batteries often and without having to reinstall the battery. Many people do not know how to install a 12 volt battery by themselves so they have to pay someone to do it, which can be costly if it is not a rechargeable battery.
Using this type of battery can save money on electricity if you convert your home to a solar powered structure. Many solar power kits use the twelve volt batteries because they can charge throughout the day from the sun's energy which is converted by the inverter into usable energy. The battery then can power a home and all its appliances from the day through into the night. It then starts over with the same process the next day because it is rechargeable.
